PURPOSE: A regeneration method of a diesel particulate filter is provided to improve simply and effectively a regeneration logic by sensing only the tip temperature of the filter at real time, deciding if the sensed temperature is distributed over the predetermined temperature within a pre-set traveling distance, and outputting an order signal by an ECU(Electronic Control Unit). CONSTITUTION: A regeneration method of a diesel particulate filter is composed of steps for making an ECU of an engine receive and monitor information about RPM(Revolution Per Minute), the opening degree of a throttle, vehicle speed, and traveling distance from correspondent sensors at real time while the engine starts; deciding how much the tip temperature of the filter is distributed over 350 deg.C within a pre-set traveling distance by receiving a signal from a temperature sensor for detecting the tip temperature of the filter coated with a catalyst; making an order signal from the ECU to make the engine post-inject fuel at every pre-set traveling distances, based on the distribution of the tip temperature of the filter; and regenerating the filter by rising the temperature of exhaust gas by fuel post-injection of the engine and burning particulate matters collected in the filter.
