INFRARED RADIATION SOURCE INCLUDING HEATER COIL CONTACTING ELEVATION OF CASING TUBE ONLY AT THE HIGHEST POINT OF ELEVATION

PURPOSE: An infrared radiation source is provided to maintain the radiation temperature of a thermal conductor at a range higher than 1000 Deg.C. CONSTITUTION: An infrared radiation source(1) comprises at least one electrical thermal conductor arranged in a casing tube(2) made of quartz glass. The casing tube has at least one elevation(3) formed at a wall opposed to the thermal conductor. The casing tube has an inner diameter locally decreasing at the elevation. The thermal conductor is designed as a heater coil(4). The casing tube has a constant outer diameter in a region of the heater coils. The elevation has a convex shape at a surface opposed to the heater coil. The heater coil contacts the elevation of the casing tube only at the highest point of the elevation.
