PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vehicle parking device in which a transmission is geared in a predetermined shift stage when a change lever is operated to a parking position when a vehicle is parked. SOLUTION: The parking device which cannot stop the rotation of an input shaft of the transmission by the friction force of an engine when the engine is stopped comprises a parking gear provided on the input shaft, a parking lock mechanism selectively engaged with the parking gear, a change lever mechanically connected to the parking lock mechanism, a shift actuator to operate the transmission to each shift stage, a parking operation detection means disposed on an operation route from the neutral position of the change lever to the parking position thereof, and a control means. The control means operates the shift actuator to gear the transmission in a predetermined shift stage if the parking operation detection means confirms the operation of the change lever when the change lever is operated from the neutral position to the parking position.
