PURPOSE: A system and a method for providing a multi Internet service is provided to increase the efficiency of a transmission network by individually operating a routing unit and a DHCP(Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol) server for each Internet service provider and designatively routing the data of each subscriber to an associated provider's on-line network through a CMTS(Cable Modem Termination System). CONSTITUTION: A system for providing a multi Internet service is comprised of on-line networks(374,384), routing units(371,381), IP address allocation units(372,382), a CMTS(30), an HFC(Hybrid Fiber Coaxial cable) network(31-34), cable modems(35,36), and network equipments(351,361). The on-line networks(374,384) are connected to a backbone network. The routing units(371,381) are respectively connected with the on-line networks(374,384). The IP address allocation units(372,382) store their respective private IP addresses, public IP addresses, and the MAC addresses of subscriber-side cable modems. The CMTS(30), connected with the routing units(371,381) through high-speed Ethernet networks(37,38), transmits and receives data. The HFC network(31-34) is connected to the CMTS(30). The cable modems(35,36) are connected to the HFC network(31-34). The network equipments(351,361) are respectively connected to the cable modems(35,36).
