Reaction products of epoxy resins and fatty acid-modified epoxide-amine adducts are claimed which optionally have their epoxide and amine components modified prior to further reaction. Products of formula A'ABC and of Mn 500 are reaction products of A', which is an epoxide with 2 epoxide groups, with a reaction product ABC, where A = epoxide compound, B = fatty acid and C = amine, and are such that (i) prior to the further reaction A' and/or A is/are optionally partly or wholly modified by reaction with a compound D having at least one epoxide reactive acid or OH group and (ii) prior to further reaction C is optionally partly or wholly modified by reaction with one ore more aliphatic or aromatic monoepoxide compounds A''. An Independent claim is also included for the preparation of reaction products comprising production of an adduct ABC from the components A, B and C and then (ii) reaction of the adduct with A'.
