PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rail polishing device for miniaturizing the device, and operable by one operator. SOLUTION: Wheels 7a and 7b are installed in the front and the rear of a frame 2, and a stand 15 attached with a rotary polishing machine 3 is arranged between the wheels 7a and 7b. This stand 15 is installed, so as to move over to a side surface from an upper surface of a head part of a rail R, by a guide means composed of guide grooves 14a and 14b and projecting rods 17a and 17b fitted in these grooves. The operator holds an operation rod 4 of the rotary polishing machine 3 installed on the stand 15, and polishes the rail R by operating a rail polishing machine body 1.
