PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an uninterruptible power supply in which a power converter such as an inverter can continue to supply power to a load as much as possible even when AC overcurrent from an AC power supply is detected.SOLUTION: The uninterruptible power supply comprises: a power converter composed of a converter 2 for converting power of an AC power supply 7 to DC power and an inverter 1 for converting the DC power to AC power and supplying the AC power to a load 6; a bypass circuit 12 connected in parallel to the power converter; and a DC power supply 4 for supplying power to the inverter 1, converting the power to AC power and supplying the AC power to the load 6. When the AC power supply 7 is normal, the power converter performs power conversion and supplies power to the load 6. When the power converter is abnormal, AC power is supplied from the bypass circuit 12 to the load 6, and DC power of the DC power supply 4 when the AC power supply 7 is abnormal, is converted using the inverter 1 and can be supplied to the load 6. The uninterruptible power supply further comprises power supply means that determines whether a failure of the power converter is temporary or permanent and, when the failure is temporary, the DC power supply 4 supplies power to the inverter 1, so that power can be supplied to the load 6.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
