PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for transmitting positional information of a digital map by which matching is improved in accuracy at a receiving side. SOLUTION: In the method for transmitting positional information of a digital map by which a transmitting side transmits a vector form on a digital map, and a receiving side identifies the vector form on own digital map by map-matching, The transmitting side selects a point that is hard to generate a plurality of candidate points as an end point of the vector form, and transmits the vector form having the end point at that point to the receiving side.
