摘要 PURPOSE: A device and a method for classifying premium VoIP(Voice over Internet Protocol) traffic are provided to use a MAC address of a layer 2 for dynamic filtering conditions, in order to perform a filtering process for VoIP packets faster without influencing existing Internet service performance, thereby supplying stable and quality-guaranteed voice communication to a subscriber registered for a premium VoIP service through an NGN(Next Generation Network). CONSTITUTION: A state detector receives a VoIP packet from a computer or a VoIP telephone(S201), checks a source IP and a MAC address included in the received VoIP packet(S202), and then asks a terminal register, having a mapping table in which IP addresses and MAC addresses of terminals of subscribers registered for a specific VoIP service are stored, whether a terminal having the checked source IP and MAC address has been registered in the terminal register(S203). If the state detector confirms that the terminal has been registered, the state detector confirms whether hook-off or hook-on information has been included in the VoIP packet(S204). If the information has been included, a filtering configuration setup unit sets filtering conditions by using the MAC address provided from the state detector (S205). The state detector transmits the VoIP packet to an NGN (S210).
