PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a detection method for diagnosing osteoporosis, comprising finding a genetic polymorphism enabling the employment of the factor of the osteoporosis as a preventively diagnostically detectable indicator and using the genetic polymorphism as the indicator. SOLUTION: This method for detecting the gene comprises detecting the gene with a genetic polymorphism of one or more of a tumor necrosis factor receptor-accompanied factor-binding protein gene, a reverse inducible LIM domain protein factor, a heat shock protein 70 gene, andα-2-glucoprotein as an indicator for specifying the factor of the osteoporosis. The osteoporosis is a polygenic adult disease developed by the combination of many factors. By the detection of the genetic polymorphism, the factor of the osteoporosis can be specified.
