PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To facilitate the capacity control of abrasive and a polishing fluid charged in a machining container in wet polishing work of a centrifugal barrel or the like. SOLUTION: This abrasive is formed in a tablet form compounding abrasive grains used as a main component, and other components which are a polishing auxiliary material and/or a collapse material and/or a shaping material and/or a binding material. The polishing method comprises a process for charging the tablet type abrasive in the number computed from the mass or quantity of a polished material charged in the polishing container, into the machining container or into a fluid constituting the polishing fluid.
