PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the load in initial setting work and to automatically analyze causes of problems. SOLUTION: Various sensors 2 are respectively mounted on various parts inside of a refrigeration/air conditioning appliance 1 loading a two-stage compressor. A management device 4 is provided with algorithms in advance for respectively detecting the rise of high-pressure, the lowering of hydraulic pressure, the shortage of refrigerant, the blockage of liquid line, the failure of a solenoid vale for controlling the capacity of the compressor, and the service life of a contact point of an electromagnetic contact unit for the compressor. A state information input part 41 of the management device 4 inputs sensor data such as pressure and temperature measured by the various sensors 2, and the flag information managed by a control circuit of the refrigeration/air conditioning appliance 1 as the state information. A failure diagnosis processing part 42 detects the modulation generated in the refrigeration/air conditioning appliance 1 by executing each algorithm, and automatically analyzes the causes on the basis of a value of the state information when the failure is determined.
