PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To allow development of a battle in which a user intervenes by allowing a game to have strategic characteristics and an element of gamesmanship.SOLUTION: A method is disclosed for providing a match game executed by a computer comprising a control unit and offensively and defensively played repeatedly by a user and an opponent using a plurality of objects disposed in a plurality of areas arranged in a matrix. The method includes: a selection step for enabling the user to select an area from among the plurality of areas, and for maintaining the selected area as an already selected area; a first execution step for causing an object disposed in the selected area to execute a first action; a determination step for determining whether arrangement of the already selected area and a newly selected area corresponds to at least one of vertical, horizontal, and diagonal lines of a matrix; and a second execution step for causing the object to execute a second action when the determination step determined that said arrangement corresponds to any one of the lines.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
