PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a touch panel display device which can suppress the deterioration in performance of detecting the position due to the loss of the light quantity.SOLUTION: A touch panel display device 50 includes: a display panel 210 that displays an image; a light guide plate 110 that is disposed on the display panel 210 and propagates light; a sensor unit that detects the scattering light generated by the contact with the surface of the light guide plate 110 and propagating along the light guide plate 110; a main control unit that calculates the contact position on the light guide plate 110 on the basis of the information related to the light detected by the sensor unit; and a gap maintaining member 250 that is disposed between the display panel 210 and the light guide plate 110 and supports the light guide plate 110 with the point contact, thereby maintaining the gap constant between the display panel 210 and the light guide plate 110.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 5
