PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To repair a short circuit defect between auxiliary capacitance elements without damaging pixel electrodes. SOLUTION: A protective layer 56 for repair is disposed between a connection wire 74 connecting the auxiliary capacitance element 51 and a source electrode 71 of a TFT element 75 and the pixel electrode so as to overlap with at least a part of the connection wire 74. In the case the short circuit defect between the auxiliary capacitance elements 51 occurs, a laser is made to irradiate the part of the connection wire 74 overlapping with the protective layer 56 for repair so as not to make the laser which has cut the connection wire 74 reach the pixel electrode by means of the protective layer 56 for repair.
