MONITOR CAMERA APPARATUS AND MONITOR METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a monitor camera apparatus with a high efficiency capable of reducing a photographing time for a section needing no monitoring in automatic panning photographing. SOLUTION: A platform drive unit 12 of a dome camera 1 is provided with a sensor 15 for measuring a rotary angle and respective angles of start and end points of automatic panning photographing and start and end points for the section needing no monitoring are set in advance to a memory 14 as values of the sensor 15. On automatic panning photographing, the camera performs repetitive reciprocating photographing for a section between the start point and the end point of the automatic panning photographing at a speed proper for monitoring the platform drive unit 12 is driven at a highest speed for the section needing no monitoring and the section is passed through in a short time thereby providing the monitor camera apparatus with the high efficiency.
