PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress color deviation of an image by appropriately performing white balance adjustment of the image. SOLUTION: The white balance control apparatus (e.g. digital camera 100) is provided with an adjustment quantity setting means (e.g. CPU 8 etc.) for setting a white balance adjustment quantity of an image G on the basis of color data of image data. The apparatus is provided with a first color coordinate information calculating means (e.g. CPU 8 etc.) for summing color data of a portion corresponding to each of plurality of divided blocks of the image data, and calculating first color temperature information converted obtained by converting the color data into chromaticity coordinates of the frame. The apparatus is provided with a second coordinate information calculating means (e.g. CPU 8 etc.) for averaging the chromaticity coordinates of each block in a chromaticity plane S, and calculating second color temperature information. An adjustment quantity setting means sets the white balance adjustment quantity of the image G on the basis of the first color temperature information and the second color temperature information.
