<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To drive an optical head for forming a latent image to a photoreceptor by a multi exposure system, at a higher speed. <P>SOLUTION: There are set a plurality of light emitting elements 79 arranged in a predetermined direction; a storing means 70 for receiving and storing data of one pixel amount; a shift register 71 with a plurality of registers respectively corresponding to the plurality of light emitting elements, and for receiving the data stored in the storing means and sequentially shifting the data of each register; and an element driving circuit 78 for making each corresponding light emitting element emit light on the basis of the data of each register of the shift register.
