<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent an unintended behavior in the optical axis direction of a head light caused by vibration of the steering angle of a steering wheel of a vehicle against the intention of a driver. <P>SOLUTION: When a dispersion value V corresponding to a steering angle variation x per unit time of the steering angle STA of the steering wheel of the vehicle is a predetermined valueαor larger (NO determination in step S106), it is determined that the steering wheel of the vehicle is travelling on so called a rutted road such as a snowy road, a gravel road, or a folded road that has irregularity or the like parallel with the travel direction. Then, the steering wheel of the vehicle is affected by the rut not a little, for example, is caught by the rut even during straight travel, so that swivel control of swivelling and adjusting the optical axis direction of the head light is stopped (step S109). Thus, the unintended behavior in the optical axis direction of a head light caused by variation of the steering angle STA of the steering wheel of the vehicle against the intention of the driver can be prevented. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
