PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To protect a vehicle against harm by measuring the distance to a forward obstacle or the size thereof by means of vehicle mounted camera and millimeter wave radar. SOLUTION: In the method for detecting and displaying an obstacle from a vehicle, when positional information of the obstacle detected by means of a radar is displayed while being superposed on a camera image, projection conversion of radar plane and camera image plane is utilized.
