<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To smoothly switch a steering member and a steering mechanism from a non-connection state to a connection state, in a steering device for a vehicle adopting a steer-by-wire system. <P>SOLUTION: In the steering device for the vehicle, the steering member 1 and the steering mechanism 3 are mechanically connected. The steering device is provided with a steering shaft 10 connected to the steering member; a steering shaft 11 connected to the steering mechanism; a relative rotation allowance amount restriction mechanism 15 for restricting the relative rotation allowance amount of both shaft to a required amount; and a relative rotation allowance amount changing mechanism 20 capable of changing the relative rotation allowance amount of the relative rotation allowance amount restriction mechanism to the amount other than the required amount. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
