PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inexpensive medical image diagnostic supporting system, which enables a doctor to easily and quickly refer and to utilize diagnosis supporting information in a diagnostic reading without changing the flow of conventional works in hospital, and which can increase the diagnostic performance and the working efficiency of the doctor. SOLUTION: By this image processing device 2, a contracted medical image and/or a contracted abnormality displaying image of image data D or a medical image related to the image data D are prepared for the medical image data D, and are synthesized outside of a subject region of the image data D. The image size of the synthesized image is detected, and at the same time, film information which can be recorded by an image recording device 3 is acquired. A film to be used is determined from the detected image size and the acquired film information, and the data of the synthesized image and film indicating information are output to the image recording device 3.
