PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To allow a color version different from a color version of a process color to be properly processed when such a color version exists. SOLUTION: In the case that an object in a color version different from process colors exists, it is confirmed whether a Color(n) corresponding to its color name Spot(n) is a specific color or not (steps 108, 120, and 122). When the Color(n) is a specific color, CMYK values are converted in accordance with the LUT of the pertinent specific colors and are combined in an area for output (step 126). When the Color(n) is a process color, its CMYK values are preserved in an area for CMYK color correction (step 124), and the CMYK values in the area for CMYK color correction are subjected to color correction and then are combined to CMYK values in the area for CMYK output (steps 128 and 130).
