PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the occurrence of a toner cloud leaking through a gap between a developing roller and a housing by pressurizing a developer layer on a developing roller with an appropriate pressure. SOLUTION: By sealing the gap formed between the housing 50 and the developing sleeve 72 with a sheet material 74, the toner cloud generated when the developer carried by a developing sleeve 72 is supplied to a photoreceptor 13 is prevented from scattering outside the housing 50. Thus, the toner cloud is prevented from sticking on the photoreceptor 13 and a recording paper, then, the deterioration of image quality is prevented, and such the failures are prevented that the toner cloud flows outside the developing apparatus and the inside of a printer 10 is contaminated by the toner cloud.
