<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a reinforcing method of a damage section of a utility pole, for temporarily reinforcing the damage section caused by collision or the like of an automobile on the utility pole in a short time to secure the safety, to thereby achieve reinforcing work with reliability in terms of reinforcing strength and eliminate anxiety and inconvenience of local residents and passengers, and to provide a reinforcing metal fitting for use in the method. <P>SOLUTION: According to the reinforcing method of the damage section of the utility pole, a securing band is attached to the utility pole at a location above the damage section, and hanging hooks 3 are attached to the securing band, followed by hanging a plurality of reinforcing plates 1 from the hanging hooks 3 via reinforcing plate fittings 4 of the reinforcing plates, respectively. Then the reinforcing plates 1 are set at vertically lower locations along the periphery of the utility pole, and then secured to the utility pole by flexible bands.
