PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve operability of the selection of a display format in a medical image display system. SOLUTION: The medical image display system 10 is provided with: an image and display format selection screen preparation means 24 for preparing an image and display format selection screen by displaying an image obtained by a modality 9 on an initialization display screen displaying a display format image modeling on the display format; an image selection means 26 which selects a necessary image on the image and display format selection screen and fits the necessary image into the necessary frame of the display format image; a display format selection means 31 for selecting a necessary display format on the image and display format selection screen; a monitor 35 for displaying the image and display format selection screen; and a display screen preparation means 32 for preparing a display screen for displaying the necessary image by the necessary display format selected by the display format selection means 31.
