PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a telephone device that makes it possible to quickly make a telephone call by retrieving an area code even when a registered telephone number does not include the area code. SOLUTION: The address of a desired person is input at an input part 1 and an exchange number retrieval part 6 can obtain a correct area code from an exchange number storage part 5. Then a telephone number retrieval part 4 retrieves a calling destination from a telephone number storage part 3 and when a comparison part 7 judges that no area code is included in the retrieved telephone number, a control part 8 adds the area code retrieved by the area code retrieval part 6 to generate a calling-destination telephone number, so that an origination part 10 originates on the basis of the calling-destination telephone number.
