PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a portable electronic devices in which the surface temperature of a casing never rises during charging regardless of the type of charger for charging an attached battery, and to provide a mobile telecommunication terminal. SOLUTION: When a portable phone terminal has a radio portion 3, serving as a heating source and being operable with an attached battery pack 4 serving as power source, and connected to an external feeder device 5 with the battery pack 4 being attached, the battery pack 4 is charged by the electric current supplied from the external feeder device 5. When the radio portion 3 is being operated when the battery pack 4 is charged, the current value of charging current for charging the battery pack 4 is set to be smaller than the case where the radio portion 3 is not being operated.
