摘要

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve electrolyte leakage resistance of a battery by optimizing the balance between an electrolyte volume per unit surface area of zinc or zinc alloy particles and the specific surface area of the particles to restrain a high rate discharge characteristic and gas generation of the battery. SOLUTION: This alkaline battery is provided with: a negative electrode using a mix containing powder of zinc or a zinc alloy as an active material; an alkaline electrolyte; and a positive electrode. In the alkaline battery, the specific surface area of the active material powder is 0.01-10 m2/g; and the weight ratio of the electrolyte to the active material is 0.1-2. COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
