PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a steering column device having slide plates to be easily assembled. SOLUTION: A projection 73 projecting outwardly in the radial direction from a disk-shaped outside diameter part 72 is formed on slide plates 7, 7. Since the slide plates 7, 7 can be assembled while supporting the projection 73 by a finger, the slide plates can be assembled while maintaining the positional relationship between rectangular holes 71, 71 of the slide plates 7, 7, a locking part 811 of a fixed cam 81, and a locking part 52 of the tightening rod 5. Since the slide plates 7, 7 can be supported by a finger before the locking part 52 of the tightening rod 5 and the locking part 811 of the fixed cam 81 are completely inserted in the rectangular holes 71, 71 of the slide plates 7, 7, the slide plates 7, 7 are not dropped off during the assembly.
