PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an original plate for a planographic printing plate, which enables printing to be done by performing on-machine development after image recording using a light source emitting light within the range of a 250-420 nm wavelength and which is excellent in sensitivity and white light safety, and a planographic printing method. SOLUTION: In this original plate for the planographic printing plate, an image recording layer, which contains a polymerization initiator (A), a polymerizable compound (B) and a binder polymer (C) with an oxygen permeability of 0.1-50 cm<SP>3</SP>×0.1 mm/m<SP>2</SP>×24 hr×atm are, whose photosensitivity is set in any one of wavelengths of 250-420 nm and which can be removed by printing ink and/or dampening water, is provided on a substrate.
