FIELD: rescue equipment, particularly to evacuate people from multistory buildings in emergency. ^ SUBSTANCE: device comprises composite body with drum provided with rope and braking mechanism arranged in the body. Braking mechanism comprises gear ring having odd number of projections formed on inner drum rim, wedge-like double-armed pendulum, pendulum guides and members adapted to prevent resilient rebounding of pendulum in its extreme positions.
