<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electron emission element for preventing a fracture phenomenon of a driving electrode that may occur when an overcurrent instantaneously flows through the driving electrode, and an electron emission device using it. <P>SOLUTION: This electron emission element includes: a first driving electrode formed on a substrate in a predetermined shape; a second driving electrode positioned by being insulated from the first driving electrode; and an electron emission part connected to the first driving electrode for emitting electrons by the difference of voltages applied to the first and second driving electrodes. The electron emission element has a structure where at least a part of the second driving electrode is connected to other parts of the second driving electrode through at least one band having a predetermined width so that the at least a part of the second driving electrode is isolated in the form of an island from the electron emission part when an overcurrent is applied between the second driving electrode and the electron emission part. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
