<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve an electron emitting property by vertically aligning a number of emitter materials more than ever on an emitter layer. <P>SOLUTION: The manufacturing method of the electron emitting element comprises a process of forming a cathode electrode on a supporting substrate, a process of forming an emitter layer 10 containing carbon nano-tubes 11 and a binder material on the cathode electrode, a process of making the binder material porous at an upper layer of the emitter layer 10 by immersing the supporting substrate in an aqueous solution of an oxalic acid, and a process of aligning the carbon nano-tubes 11 almost vertical to the supporting substrate by removing the binder material by sticking and removing an adhesive tape 23 at upper layer side of the emitter layer 10. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
