<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a game machine which enables the players to feel a sufficient enjoyment by offering the fresh and new display style. <P>SOLUTION: The game machine has the game board, a special pattern display means on which the special figures are variably displayed and stopped and displayed, a performance display means which has a display area for displaying the performance images and is so arranged as to make the display area and the playing area overlap each other, a sub memory means for storing the performance image data shown on the performance display means and a performance image display control means which controls the display of the performance images based on the performance image data stored in the sub memory means. The special pattern display means is disposed ahead of the playing area and the performance image data contains a plurality of image data for variably displaying the performance figures at the upper and/or lower part of the special pattern display means.
