PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mobile phone having a TV receiving function for easily viewing TV even in a crowd. SOLUTION: This mobile phone is configured of a telephone function part 3 and a television receiving function part 7, for receiving a portable telephone signal and a TV signal. Further, it is provided with a voice data switching part 14 for switching a television voice as characters to picture display, an MCPU 6 for controlling an operation mode and a TV manner mode (12). At the time of selecting the TV manner mode, a television voice is muffled when the television receiving function is operated, and the television voice is converted into characters so as to be picture-displayed at a display part 20. This mobile phone is also provided with a memory part 15 for recording software to drive the various types of operations including the presence/absence of voice output and the presence/absence of character display after the voice is converted into characters. Thus, it is possible to realize the plurality of types of operation setting including "the presence/absence of TV voice output and the presence/absence of character display" corresponding to the selection of "normal time/TV manner mode selection time".
