PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging apparatus in which an AE control and an AWB control can be realized with a compact circuit. SOLUTION: A signal processing section 100 is provided with: a gain adjustment amplifier section 110 for carrying out a gain adjustment function on the basis of an instructed gain control variable; and a gain control section 150 for composing a gain control variable CN1(AE) for lightness control with gain control variables CN2, CN3, CN4 for white balance control and setting the result to the gain adjustment amplifier section 110. Using the same gain adjustment amplifier carries out gain adjustment for the lightness control and the white balance control. Since the same amplifier can be used for both the lightness adjustment and the color tone adjustment, the signal processing circuit can be simplified, the circuit configuration of the gain adjustment amplifier can be made compact, and a small area can be attained for the circuit.
