PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide technology with which a viewer can edit a video image broadcast from a broadcast station, to obtain a layout congenial to the taste of the viewer and display and record the edited image. SOLUTION: The video image edit apparatus includes an input unit 53 with a function of designating a desired part, in a frame image displayed on a display apparatus 56 as a lock image; and a control unit 10 with the function of searching an image region, whose feature is coincident with that of the lock image in a lock image memory 521, a function of storing the designated lock image to the lock image memory 521 to update the locked image in the lock image memory 521 by the image of the searched feature matching region, a function of demarcating a desired image in a way that the searched feature matching region shares a prescribed area ratio at a prescribed part in the desired image to segment the desired image from the frame image, and a function of displaying the segmented desired image on the display apparatus 56 as a frame image, corresponding to the frame image of the segmented source and recording the desired image in a video image memory 541.
