PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a curable composition capable of forming a cured product utilizable for optical material, etc., for optical waveguides and excellent in heat resistance, crack resistance, a planarizing property and peeling resistance. SOLUTION: The curable composition comprises the hydrolysate of a hydrolyzable silane compound represented by the general formula: (R<SP>1</SP>)<SB>p</SB>(R<SP>2</SP>)<SB>q</SB>Si(X)<SB>4-p-q</SB>[wherein R<SP>1</SP>s are 1-12C nonhydrolyzable organic groups containing a fluorine atom which are the same or different; R<SP>2</SP>is a 1-12C nonhydrolyzable organic group not containing a fluorine atom; Xs are hydrolyzable groups which are the same or different; p is 1 or 2; and q is 0 or 1] and/or its condensation product and a scaly filler.
