<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To supply a rotary type cutting device for the printing industry that can very easily and securely adjust a cutting gap. <P>SOLUTION: The rotary type cutting device has an adjustable cutting gap (S) and is provided with an upper cutter (5) and a lower cutter (7), each of which is rotatably mounted on a machine frame member (2) via a cutter shaft (11). At least one of the cutters (5 and 7) can move in the vertical direction against the cutter shaft (11) in order to adjust the cutting gap (S) by a regulator (10). By this configuration, the zero position can be set and the cutting position can be set based on the zero position. The regulator (10) has a signal generator (D1) to automatically detect the zero position of the movable cutter (7). The regulator (10) has a regulation drive mechanism (12) that controls the movable cutters (5 and 7) by a signal generator (D2) and automatically moves them from the zero position to the cutting position.
