PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a control device of an internal combustion engine capable of easily and surely detecting control abnormality, in the control device of the internal combustion engine for determining target throttle opening on the basis of a target intake quantity. SOLUTION: This control device of the internal combustion engine determines the target throttle opening on the basis of the target intake quantity mcta. The control device of the internal combustion engine is provided for detecting the control abnormality by comparing the target intake quantity mcta with an intake quantity mcfm measured by an air flowmeter. Such a control device of the internal combustion engine can easily and surely detect the control abnormality in a process of determining the target throttle opening and controlling a throttle valve.
