<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform flexible substitution of a printer by easy operation. <P>SOLUTION: A user inputs a filtering condition or an ID from a panel of a device performing substitute printing. The filtering condition is broadcasted to another printer of a network (1604). The printer receiving it creates a list of a job fitting the filter condition, and transmits it to the printer performing the substitute printing (1606). The job list is displayed on a panel, and the user can select the job therefrom.
