SMOKE DETECTING METHOD AND DEVICE

A smoke detecting method and an apparatus therefor are provided to detect whether fire smoke exists in an image accurately to detect and alert a fire in an initial stage. A plurality of images is captured(10). When it is discriminated that one of a plurality of images has a moved object, one of a plurality of the images is judged as an analyzable image(11). The chrominance change of the analyzable image is analyzed(12). At least one of an edge blur and a flickering frequency of the analyzable image is analyzed(13,14). At least one of the analyzed results is compared with a corresponding certain feature(16). When at least one of the analyzed results corresponds to the corresponding certain feature, it is judged that the moved object is the smoke(17).
