PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To form a uniform water screen by uniformly blowing wet air to the surface of a drum. SOLUTION: This water screen former for forming a water screen on the surface of a rotary casting drum is attached to a resin film manufacturing device which manufactures a resin film by supplying a sheet-like molten resin to the surface of the rotary casting drum. The water screen former comprises (1) a former body which is arranged adjacently to the surface of the casting drum and has a chamber openable to the face side of the casting drum, (2) a wet air jetting means for spewing the wet air to the chamber of the former body, and (3) an opening part and a regulating valve arranged for uniformly spewing the wet air to the surface of the casting drum.
