PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a construction machine capable of preventing water entering from a hole of a latch mechanism into an engine compartment from splashing on rotary equipment.SOLUTION: A hydraulic shovel includes an undercarriage 1, a superstructure 2 provided on the upper side of the undercarriage 1 in a revolvable manner, a work device 3 connected to the superstructure 2, an engine 13, an alternator 17 to be driven by the engine, the engine compartment formed on the superstructure 2 to store the engine 13 and the alternator 17, and an upper face opening/closing cover 20 provided in an openable/closable manner for covering the engine compartment. It further includes a latch mechanism 25 provided on the upper face opening/closing cover 20, a striker 26 provided above the alternator 17 for the superstructure 2 so as to be engageable with a claw 29 of the latch mechanism 25, and a guard member 34 provided below the striker 26 for guarding the alternator 17 to prevent water entering from a hole 33A or the like of the latch mechanism 25 into the engine compartment from splashing thereon.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 8 |
