A package comprising: a container having a body portion, a neck 42, a finish on the neck, the finish having an outwardly projecting and helically extending thread 18, a shoulder 48 extending between the body portion and the neck 42, and a spaced pair of ramp-shaped locking lugs extending outwardly from the outer surface of the neck 42 of the container, each of the locking lugs having a tapered side and a radially extending side, the radially extending side extending from a radially outermost exterior inwardly to meet the neck 42 outer surface, and a molded plastic, child-resistant squeeze-and-turn closure 10 removably affixed to the neck 42 of the container, the closure 10 comprising: a top panel 12, an outer peripheral sidewall joined at an end to the top panel 12 and having diametrically opposed squeeze pressure application pads 22, the outer sidewall having an inwardly tapering end coupled to the top panel 12 and an outwardly flared thickened free end remote from the top panel 12, an inner sidewall 16 joined at an end to the top panel 12 and concentrically spaced radially inwardly of the outer sidewall, an inwardly projecting and helically extending thread 18 on an inner surface of the inner sidewall 16, the thread 18 on the inner sidewall 16 being complementary to the thread 44 on the finish of the container and removably engaging the thread 44 on the neck 42 of the container, a set of diametrically opposed and inwardly projecting lugs on an inner surface of the outer sidewall adjacent the lower free end, the locking lugs being positioned to contact the ramp-shaped locking lugs of the container and being positioned on an axis that extends perpendicularly from the diametrically opposed squeeze pads 22 of the outer sidewall, each of the locking lugs of the closure 10 having a radially positioned free end that faces the radially extending side of the locking lug of the container, the locking lug of the closure 10 including a finger extending from the free end and having a generally U-shaped recess or indentation therein extending throughout the full axial height of the locking lug, the finger defining (i) an arcuate surface from the inner surface of the outer sidewall to (ii) a straight line surface from the arcuate surface to the free end, the free end being engageable with the radially extending side of the container locking lugs to resist removal of the closure 10 from the container by brute force and displaceable outwardly beyond the container locking lugs upon application of pressure urging the squeeze pads 22 toward one surface.
