PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To sufficiently secure clearance between an intermediate transfer belt and a photoreceptor, without greatly moving the intermediate transfer belt.SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus includes a photoreceptor 12K, an intermediate transfer belt 7 which is provided contactably with/separably from the photoreceptor drum 12K, a holding member 31 which holds the intermediate transfer belt 7, a primary transfer member 8K which primarily transfers a toner image on the photoreceptor 12K to the intermediate transfer belt 7, a secondary transfer member 22 which secondarily transfers the toner image on the intermediate transfer belt 7 to a recording medium, and an energizing member 43K which energizes the primary transfer member 8K toward the side of the photoreceptor 12K. The primary transfer member 8K is moved on the side separating from the photoreceptor 12K against the energizing force of the energizing member 43K in conjunction with the movement of the holding member 31 from a position for bringing the intermediate transfer belt 7 into contact with the photoreceptor 12K to a position for separation.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 7 |
