<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an air conditioner capable of making compatible both the acquisition of the amenity of an indoor space and the elongation of the service life of an electrostatic atomizer by properly controlling a capacity of the electrostatic atomizer according to a stain degree in air. <P>SOLUTION: This air conditioner is provided with the electrostatic atomizer for generating electrostatic mist, a control means for controlling an indoor unit and the electrostatic atomizer, and a stain detecting means for detecting the stain degree of indoor air, and an intermittent operation mode of repeating the operation and stopping of the electrostatic atomizer and a continuous operation mode of continuously operating the electrostatic atomizer are set. The control means starts the operation of the air conditioner, selects the intermittent operation mode of the electrostatic atomizer, selects the continuous operation mode when the stain degree of the indoor air detected by the stain detecting means reaches a predetermined threshold or larger, and continuously operates the electrostatic atomizer. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT</p> |
