PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming device capable of recovering automatically a developer from a developing part, by a relatively simple constitution and operation, without generating trouble such as damage of an image carrier and turning-up of a cleaning blade. SOLUTION: This image forming device starts driving of the image carrier (step S3), when recovering the developer from the developing part, then starts driving of the developing part and starts recovery of the developer by a developer recovery means (step S4), and stops the driving of the image carrier, when detecting, by a detecting means, the state where the developer is not carried on a developer carrier (step S5-S6).
