1318846 Semi-conductor rectifiers SIEMENS AG 14 March 1972 [26 March 1971] 11877/72 Heading H1K In a 3-phase current converter for the shaft of an electrical machine a structure 1 comprises two conductive component rings 2, 3 peripherally insulated by interlayer 5, and at three equally spaced regions radial projections 2a of the outer ring receive in space 22 a pair of disc rectifiers 12, 22 tangentially aligned and radially disposed; the major opposed faces of each cell constituting electrodes. Spaces 22 have cast resin linings 7a homogeneous with cast resin insulation 7 on the faces of the inner ring 3 and the outer ring 2, and covers 8 screwed to the projections 2a have annular grooves on their inner faces to receive projections of the rectifier cells 12; the associated cells 13 being engaged by spring-loaded contact pins 18 in sleeves 20 of the inner ring 3. Intermediate contacts 14 interconnect the cells, which are urged against the covers by the pins 18, and are respectively connected over conductors 15 and nipples 16 to phase connecting members 17 extending through insulant walls 7a and apertures of projections 2a. A radial projection diametrically opposite projection 2a encloses space 2b containing smoothing capacitors and other components connected to rings 2, 3: embedded in cast resin. Connections 9, 10 of the inner and outer rings provide positive and negative poles to the rectifier star points, and the inner ring is mounted on an insulant boss 4 secured non-rotatively to the machine shaft, or alternatively direct to the shaft for positive or negative connection to the exciter winding. |
